This course is offered in partnership with the Southern Utah Home Builders Association (SUHBA) to help prepare students for a lucrative career in the building construction industry. Local employers have jobs available NOW for those who have basic skills and knowledge. The course provides an overview and introduction to the many trades and skills that encompass the building industry. Basic safety, material handling, and rigging will be covered. Students will have introduction to construction math, hand & power tools, construction drawings, concrete, framing, masonry, HVACR, drain, waste and vent systems, plastic pipe & fittings, electrical safety as well as basic communication and employability skills. 40-hour class
