SMGNT 1030 - Project Management and Agile Execution


This course guides students through fundamental project management concepts and behavioral skills needed to successfully launch, lead, and realize benefits from projects in profit and nonprofit organizations. Successful project managers skillfully manage their resources, schedules, risks, and scope to produce a desired outcome. In this course, students explore project management with a practical, hands-on approach through case studies and class exercises. A key and often overlooked challenge for project managers is the ability to manage without influence-to gain the support of stakeholders and access to resources not directly under their control. Special attention is given to critical success factors required to overcome resistance to change. We will review causes of project failure and how to mitigate risks through proper planning in the early phases of a new initiative. At the end of this course students may elect to take the PMI Exam to certify as a PMP or certified Project Management Professional, a credential recognized world-wide.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for the health care provider. This advanced course highlights the importance of high-performance team dynamics and communication, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS). Improves outcomes in complex cardiovascular, respiratory and other (eg, metabolic, toxicologic) emergencies by expanding on core ACLS guidelines and encouraging critical thinking and decision-making strategies. Through instruction and active participation in case-based scenarios, learners enhance their skills in the differential diagnosis and treatment of prearrest, arrest and postarrest patients. AMHA 0711 - AHA - BLS - Basic Life Support


American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for the health care provider is designed to meet the requirements for employment in health care professions. Students will learn single-rescuer and team basic life support for adults, children and infants they learn how to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilation and provide early use of an AED. MEDF 1000W - Immunization Administration Certification - Dates to be Determined


The dates for this class are to be determined.
Learn and practice the technical skills to effectively prepare, administer, and dispose of injections and vaccinations. Students must have a current BLS CPR Certification. Please bring this with you to class. If you do not have a current certification, we will hold your injection training card until you have acquired your BLS. Dixie Tech offers BLS courses and we can help you get registered for one, if needed.

RAD 1000 - Radiography Essentials for Medical Assistants


Please Note: In addition to Mondays, this class will include two Saturday classes from 9:00-3:00, dates to be determined.
Certified Medical Assistants and MA students at Dixie Tech can join this course to master the essentials of limited radiography through professionalism and patient care, x-ray science, radiographic practices, ancillary clinical skills, labs, lecture, and clinical practice. Textbooks and clinical hours included. ***This class is designed for those already trained and certified in Medical Assisting.

PRDV 1080 - Registered Behavior Technician Training


Join Dixie Tech to learn the ins and outs of becoming a Registered Behavior Technician, a psychology technician who is trained to deliver the specific procedures of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA is the only evidence-based treatment for Autism, and in the last 10 years all 50 states have passed legislation requiring health insurance to cover ABA services for children and people with a diagnosis of Autism. The field of ABA is growing exponentially and the need for RBT's is extremely high, including right here in southern Utah! This training includes the 40-hour didactic training and information on how to continue the process of taking the assessment, exam, and receiving certification! If you are in the medical, education, or treatment fields, this class is a must for you!
