Do you want to be a Wildland Firefighter? This 40-hour course is a NWCG introductory course designed to train entry-level firefighters to level of Fire-fighter Type 2 (FFT2). This course covers basic incident management organization, firefighting techniques, suppression equipment, safety, strategy/tactics along with fire behavior. Field exercises will be performed for valuable hands-on training. This will provide you with initial training to be able to apply for Federal, State, local fire departments and private wildland fire contractors. Included in this course is: S-130 Firefighter training, S-190 Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior and L-180 Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service. Pre-course work includes: Incident Management System (ICS) 100, 200, 700 and 800. The "Pack" test is not part of this course.
